Ingredients
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 inch piece of ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1.50 tablespoons loose dried hibiscus or 1 hibiscus tea bag
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1.50 oz vodka
- 2 oz spiced hibiscus infusion
- 1/2 oz maple syrup
- 1 egg white or 1 tablespoon aquafaba
- ice
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine water, sliced ginger, cinnamon stick, and hibiscus. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes until the mixture turns dark red and becomes aromatic. Strain and refrigerate to cool.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine lemon juice, vodka, spiced hibiscus infusion, maple syrup, and egg white or aquafaba. Shake the mixture without ice for about 15 seconds (dry shake).
- Add a handful of ice cubes to the shaker and shake for another 15 seconds to chill the drink and strengthen the foam.
- Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with ice and enjoy! Garnish with a cinnamon stick and hibiscus flowers, if desired.
