  • 2 dashes Angostura or orange bitters
  • 1 teaspoon filtered water
  • 2 ounces rye whiskey or bourbon
  • 2 rosemary sprigs
  • Orange peel for garnish
  • Ice

  2. Fill the glass halfway with ice or add 1 large ice cube.
  3. Pour in the whiskey or bourbon and gently stir with a cocktail spoon to combine.
  4. Twist the orange peel over the glass and place it in the cocktail.

  6. Cover the cocktail and the rosemary with the can of a shaker for about 30 seconds to capture the smoke.
  7. Remove the shaker to release a cloud of smoke, then gently clap the remaining rosemary sprig between your hands and nestle it into the cocktail.
