Ingredients
- 1 lime, cut into four pieces, juice of 1 lime, and lime wedge, for garnish
- 1 tbsp. light or dark brown sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 4 basil leaves
- 2 sprigs mint, plus additional for garnish
- 1.50 oz. Bulleit Bourbon
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker, muddle the lime pieces, lime juice, brown sugar, salt, basil, and mint vigorously to release the aromatics and juice.
- Add Bulleit Bourbon and enough ice to fill the shaker.
- Shake vigorously until well-chilled.
- Strain the mixture into a julep glass filled with crushed ice, using a Hawthorne strainer to retain some of the herbs and citrus pulp.
- Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint.
