Ingredients

  • 1.50 oz orange-flavored liqueur
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 to 1.50 tsp icing sugar, if desired
  • 2 cups crushed ice
  • 2 lime wedges, if desired
  • 1 tbsp coarse salt, if desired
  • 1.50 oz tequila

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine orange liqueur, lime juice, icing sugar, and crushed ice. Blend until smooth.
  2. Spoon the mixture into a non-metal freezer container and freeze until almost firm, approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
  3. If the mixture freezes completely, let it stand at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  4. Return the partially frozen mixture to the blender and blend until slushy.
  5. Rub the rims of glasses with lime wedges, then dip in salt to coat.
  6. Place the slush in each salt-rimmed glass and add the tequila.
  7. Garnish with lime wedges and serve chilled.
