Keto Spice Infused Buttered Rum
A warm, spiced keto hot buttered rum with a rich, low-carb twist.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tbsp butter
- 1 star anise
- 1/4 tsp powdered ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 tsp brown sugar substitute
- 1/2 tsp sugar-free maple syrup
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp rum or bourbon
Instructions
- In a deep pot, melt the butter over medium heat with the star anise.
- Stir in the ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla, maple syrup, and brown sugar substitute until thoroughly mixed.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and pour in the water (it will bubble slightly).
- Simmer for 10 minutes, then add the bourbon and heat for an additional 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve.
