Ingredients
- 1 kale leaf (dinosaur or lacinato, rib removed)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 1/2 tablespoons mandarin orange juice
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/8 jalapeno pepper, seeds removed
- 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup (or agave nectar)
- 1/8 cup water
- 1/8 cup mezcal
- 1 cup large ice cubes
- 1 jalapeno slice (optional garnish)
- 1 baby kale leaf (optional garnish)
Instructions
- In a blender, combine kale, lime juice, mandarin orange juice, minced ginger, jalapeno, maple syrup, and water.
- Blend on low for 20 seconds, then on high for 40 seconds until the texture is consistent. Use a scraper to push down the ingredients if needed.
- Transfer the mixture to a cocktail shaker.
- Add mezcal and ice to the shaker, then close it.
- Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
- Pour the mixture into a serving glass without straining out the ice.
- Serve immediately.
