Ingredients

  • Cinnamon sugar, for rimming glass
  • 1/4 cup apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick (3 inches)
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 3 oz dry red wine

Instructions

  1. If desired, moisten the rim of a mug with water and dip in cinnamon sugar to coat the rim.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the apple cider, sugar, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add the red wine and heat through, then remove from the heat.
  4. Cover and let it steep for 10 minutes before straining.
  5. Serve the mulled red cider in the prepared mug.
