Cuban Correspondent

This cocktail, also known as the Periodista, was created in 1995 at Chez Henri in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The original recipe called for dark rum, apricot liqueur, triple sec, and lime juice. Over time, the recipe has been refined to include dark rum, Combier triple sec, Rothman & Winter apricot liqueur, and fresh lime juice. Expertly balanced and full of Latin flavor, this cocktail has become a favorite in the Boston area and beyond.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces dark rum
  • 1/2 ounce Combier triple sec
  • 1/2 ounce Rothman & Winter apricot liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker that is three-quarters filled with ice.
  2. Shake the mixture until well-chilled, for about 15 seconds.
  3. Strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe glass.
