Chamomile Scotch Swizzle
A delightful variation of the classic old fashioned, the Chamomile Scotch Swizzle boasts floral-infused sweetness and the robustness of Scotch, creating a unique and aromatic cocktail.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp dried chamomile flowers
- 2 oz Speyside single-malt scotch, preferably Dalwhinnie 15 Year
- 1/2 oz chamomile syrup
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- Edible flowers, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small pot over medium-high heat, combine sugar, chamomile flowers, and 1/4 cup water. Cook until the sugar dissolves, about 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for about 30 minutes.
- Strain the syrup using a fine-mesh sieve set over a bowl, and discard the flowers. The syrup can be refrigerated and will keep for up to 3 weeks.
- In a mixing glass or large glass filled with ice, combine the scotch, chamomile syrup, and bitters.
- Stir the mixture for 15 seconds using a swizzle stick or spoon.
- Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with an twist and optional edible flowers.
